I&#8217;m very excited that we got such a great space at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcit.ca\" title=\"BCIT\">BCIT<\/a> (British Columbia Institute of Technology).<\/p>\n<p>BarCampBankBC will take place in Vancouver all day on Saturday, September 20th and a half day on Sunday the 21st. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250125092130\/http:\/\/barcamp.org\/w\/page\/400323\/BarCampBankBC\" title=\"BarCampBank BC\">sign up here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">What is BarCampBankBC?<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">What if we changed banking and finance?<\/span> The aim of BarCampBank is to foster innovations and the creation of new business models in the world of banking and finance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s going to be an amazing time, and may just:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>change the way you do your job\n<li>introduce you to new concepts and innovations\n<li>connect you to some amazing people\n<li>inspire you<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;ve already got 16 people coming from some great FIs and vendors, including HSBC, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.industrialcu.com\/\" title=\"Industrial Credit Union\">Industrial Credit Union<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prospera.ca\" title=\"Westminster Savings Credit Union\">Westminster Savings Credit Union<\/a>, Everything CU,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.central1.com\" title=\"Credit Union Central of BC\">Credit Union Central of BC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150317012453\/http:\/\/www.creative-brand.com\/\" title=\"Creative Brand Communications\">Creative Brand Communications<\/a>, Citizens Bank of Canada, Ripple Project, Open Money, <a href=\"https:\/\/beemcreditunion.ca\/personal\" title=\"Mount Lehman Credit Union\">Mount Lehman Credit Union<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comsavings.com\/\" title=\"Community Savings Credit Union\">Community Savings Credit Union<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancity.com\" title=\"Vancity\">Vancity<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.currencymarketing.ca\" title=\"Currency Marketing\">Currency Marketing<\/a>. And I just noticed <a href=\"https:\/\/denisewymore.wordpress.com\/\" title=\"Denise Wymore\">Denise Wymore<\/a> is planning on coming in for it.<\/p>\n<p>I have no doubt that by the time September 20th and 21st arrive many more FIs and vendors will have signed up.<\/p>\n<p>BCIT&#8217;s downtown campus is extremely well located, right in <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.ca\/maps?q=555+Seymour+Street,+Vancouver,+BC&#038;hl=en&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;ll=49.290314,-123.110476&#038;spn=0.039862,0.080338&#038;z=14&#038;iwloc=addr&#038;om=1&#038;source=embed\" title=\"BCIT Downtown campus\">downtown Vancouver<\/a>. If you&#8217;re coming in from out of town, you can walk there from any of Vancouver&#8217;s downtown hotels. It&#8217;s also very close to a SkyTrain station, so it&#8217;s easy to get to from almost anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>All that for about $35 Canadian.
