{"id":1674,"date":"2007-05-05T14:50:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-05T21:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/azaroff.com\/?p=1674"},"modified":"2023-03-26T12:58:11","modified_gmt":"2023-03-26T19:58:11","slug":"tinfoiling-on-the-virtual-human-experience-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/azaroff.com\/?p=1674","title":{"rendered":"tinfoiling on the virtual human experience."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/azaroff.com\/?p=1673\" title=\"azaroff.com earlier post\">post I made a few days back<\/a>, I tried to articulate some of the issues I&#8217;ve been thinking about our web site design to enhance the member\/user experience.<\/p>\n<p>Gene at tinfoiling left a comment in which he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The online experience seems to revolve around the person, their personal networks and being able to keep things the way they want to. Our products need to capture these elements.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I was intrigued, but his short comment on my site obviously didn&#8217;t capture the depth of what he was getting at, so I asked him to expand on his own site. Much to my delight he has.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tinfoiling.com\/2007\/05\/04\/an-attempt-to-answer-william\/\" title=\"tinfoiling\">Here&#8217;s Gene&#8217;s response on tinfoiling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His theory, and I hope I do it justice is that web design as we&#8217;ve been dealing with it is a bit of a boondoggle, avoiding the key element of what the customer wants. And it goes back to our product design as well. A huge idea really, and I gotta admit, I&#8217;m still fully wrapping my head around it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200423021324\/https:\/\/thebankwatch.com\/\" title=\"The Bankwatch\">Colin<\/a>, as usual, had a great comment:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Product &#8211; my take: forget about it. It comes last. Banks have been product centric for ever, and that doesn\u2019t work when you get into experiential design.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A great conversation.
